Possible KidWind Workshop

Ray Pitcher will be running the KidWind competition again this year at the showcase on March 8th.  Just like last year, this year you will need to registar at kidwind.org and at the showcase website.  If you do not signup at Kidwind you will not recieve free supplies.
Ray would like to set up a workshop in January after work to work on blade designs.  This would be time to design blades, bring in some of your student designed blades and test them in a wind tunnel and with the computer software.  Please let me know at jcorleto@gmail.com if there is an interest, and possible dates.

Getting Engineering by Design Curriculum in New York State

Please read this EbD Letter sent out by Chuck Goodwin from the NYSTEEA advisory council.  It is an effort by NYSTEEA to bring "Engineering by Design" curriculum to New York.  The letter will explain the details of this initiative, however no one is obligated to sign this.  If you feel strongly that there should be this type of curriculum in New York, Chuck would like your support in order to gain interest from prospective funders.  Please print out the letter and send it signed to:

Charles H. Goodwin

Or, you may scan it signed and email it to: cgnystea@stny.rr.com

NYSTEEA Conference in Syracuse for 2012

It's Showcase Time....

Yes, it is that time of year again.  Our 11th annual showcase is coming up March 8th, 2012.  Lots and lots of planning goes into organizing each showcase.  If you have ran an event in the past, want to run one this year, or just want to help out in the planning, we will be meeting on Wednesday, December 7th at 4pm in Kunsela Hall A227.  Anyone is welcome to attend.  Please let me know at jcorleto@gmail.com if you plan to come.  We need you to keep this event going!

Meeting and Tour Change

Our meeting that is on the calendar for the 12th (which was incorrect in the first place) has been moved to Tuesday, November 29th.  I am working on a tour and should have something lined up by the end of the week.

SUNYIT Showcase FYI

While we are still a few months away from the 11th annual showcase, it may be wise of you to put in for your transportation requests now at your schools.  With budgets getting tight again, you are more apt to get approved now as opposed to March for transportation (thanks Ray!).
